WHEN TO SEEK CLASSES

Any of the classes and courses in the categories above will make you feel healthier and happier by their very nature. Reasons for seeking out a class are many and varied.

There are Shiatsu classes for the layperson and others for the professional bodyworker. For instance, if stress is getting to you, a Self-Shiatsu class will show you ways to alleviate it. Or maybe you would like to help family and friends with their aches and pains. A weekend workshop will give you that ability. Practitioners in the field of massage and bodywork can learn new approaches and techniques while satisfying continuing education requirements.

Shamanic Guidance is excellent when you suspect you have veered off your path, have lost touch with your dreams, or simply need to break free of old restrictive patterns in your life. Honoring Mother Earth and Father Sky, you meet your totems and spirit helpers, and reconnect with your inner guidance and strength of character.

Chakra Development frees up your energy and makes it more available to you. You get an influx of creativity. Life gets easier and you feel happier. You find energy for problem solving, personal development, studying, spending time on a hobby, or just having fun!

BLUEPRINT OF A CLASS

No matter which area of learning you want to examine, you have the option of studying privately or in a group setting. All classes combine theory with experiential practice. Depending on the subject matter, private classes can range from 1½–3 hours. Group classes typically take 2½ hours for an introduction, whereas 1-day or weekend workshops are typically formatted in two 3-hour segments per day with 1–1½ hours set aside for lunch.

WHAT I PROVIDE AS A TEACHER

I like the mood in the classroom to be relaxed and light-hearted, yet focused. I encourage participants to respect all who are present and to bring forward their eagerness to learn. I prepare and organize the material so that each segment builds on the previous one. Being a perpetual student keeps my knowledge base greater than the class material. This lets me make time for questions and give answers in several ways for clearer understanding. Students receive hand-outs for continuing to practice at home what  has been learned.

Wherever possible, I use specific exercises that I specially designed to create an atmosphere where you to get an actual physical sensation of the subtle energies in play. You have time during class to express and record your sensations to make sure it is easy for you to recall your experience.  Time for sharing with the group also gives you the opportunity to inspire, and be inspired by, your classmates.  You may find yourself deeply touched.  I always am.
